Hi, I’m Claneessa and welcome to my website ! 🌸

I am a 26 years-old French artist living in London and I’m glad you made it here.

Growing up in France with Algerian roots, I’ve always been fascinated by the mix of traditions and cultures, and that’s why it was important to me to showcase these different cultures in my art, to show the beauty of ethnic and cultural diversity around us, wether it’s in France or all around the World. 
Of course, the Algerian culture holds a special place in my heart, so my illustrations tend to be very much inspired by it, but I also really want to represent diversity in a whole. 🌍

I love drawing characters, especially women, who tell a different story throughout their outfits, their expressions and their looks. I love highlighting women’s beauty, whoever they are and wherever they come from. Growing up, I realized how important representation is, whether it is in television, in comic books or just in art in general, and that is why I care deeply about showing every type of women and culture throughout my illustrations. 💌

On top of cultural diversity, it also means a lot to me to highlight muslim women, and to show that faith is much stronger than hatred that can be spread in the media, and, in my own small way, to be able to break down stereotypes that people can have about islam. But also, and above all, to allow muslim women to find themselves in illustrations that represent them, and that look like them. 🧕🏻🧕🏽🧕🏿

On this website, you can get to know my world, the different projets that I realized as a free-lance illustrator, as well as an online shop where you can find all the merchandise made out of my illustrations that you probably may have seen on my Instagram account.

Creating this website has been very important to me because for as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved drawing, and, when I was little, I was constantly saying that when I grow up, I’d want to be an illustrator. For me, it was almost like an untouchable dream, mostly due to the overvaluation of more « classic » professional journeys and the contempt people often express for artistic jobs.
I grew up with this idea that drawing was great, and that, although it is what I’m passionate about and what I’m the best at, it would just stay a hobby, something that I do during my free time.
But eventually, after seeing a lot of artists launching their online business on social media, I realized that it was possible. And I asked myself « why not me? » ✨

So here we are, after many years of not knowing how to start, of feeling this imposter syndrome that probably almost every artist face in their life, I’m finally starting !

This website is, I hope, the start of a big adventure that you can join by supporting me either financially, by buying a product on my online shop or by requesting my services for an artistic project (personal or professional), or for free by supporting me on my social media (because yes, a like, a comment or a share matter more than you think). 🎀
